Firstly, to become carbon neutral we must understand what it actually means.Â
For an organisation, activity, process, event or building to be considered carbon neutral it’s net greenhouse gas emissions must be equal to zero. This can be achieved in many ways.Â
You must begin by measuring all of the emissions that are being produced. By all, we mean everything! Every bit of carbon you produce should be measured. Then you must reduce your emissions where possible. Once you have explored all options, you can then buy carbon credits to offset the remaining emissions you create. Once this is done, moving forward, you must report on all of the carbon emissions you create publicly.
